's a look at traffic. back to you guys. >> thank you. developing news from the southland where cal state fullerton will have classes again today. the campus was locked down for eight hours after a suspect ran to the school following a police chase. the suspect was never found but the lockdown was lifted just before midnight. they were wanted for robbery and shooting from a jewelry store chased through three counties before crashing near the fullerton campus. three suspects were arrested, two still at large. one of them ran into a baseball diamond where the los angeles police chief was at a toy giveaway. that suspect brought dozens of officers there and he surrendered as you can see here. >>> there are some things you should not post online, a lot of stuff. this is one of them. cbs 5 reporter elizabeth wenger is in san francisco with the story of a video that has a police sergeant in hot water. >> reporter: it should be interesting to see what happens next. yeah, the biggest question is why? it's pretty astonishing video. it was taken in broad daylight so you think that's the time when ty

suspects this morning. at least one was last seen running on the cal state fullerton campus. that prompted a lockdown that lasted 8 hours last night. the suspect was never found but the lockdown was lifted just before midnight. now, the suspects were wanted for robbery in a shooting earlier at a jewelry store. they were chased through three counties before crashing near the fullerton campus. now, three of the five suspects are under arrest. one of them you will see ran out on the baseball diamond where the l.a. police chief was at a toy giveaway at the time. the suspect gave up when he saw the police officers. >>> the oakland police department avoids a federal takeover although it could happen. instead a federal judge has ordered a compliance director to keep track of reforms in the department. that person will help opd implement reforms required by the settlement of a 12-year-old civil rights lawsuit. >>> politics is not the only battle governor brown is fighting these days. the 74-year-old is now being treated for prostate cancer. cbs 5 reporter elissa harrington is over at ucsf this mor

is seeing the lights of the bay bridge and lights of the city. >> cal tran and pg&e and nobody knows what caused the outage. >> we've learned that some detectives took an unusual piece of evidence from the apartment of a murder suspect. that suspect is one of five people arrested after a man and woman were found tied up, gagged on a san francisco street. cbs 5 reporter linda yee takes us to that apartment. >> reporter: four women and one man were arrested in a case that even baffles police. >> this is a crime you see in movies. it's certainly disturbing when you find a crime of that nature. >> reporter: sunday evening a man and woman bound on the street. they were tied up, gagged, beaten, one was shot and dumped here. investigators however would not elaborate on the motive. the male victim eventually died. an 18-year-old wool remains in the hospital with serious injuries. investigators tracked down the suspects to a home in hercules. >> there was an extensive relationship between the victims and the suspects. i can't get into what those relationships are. >> reporter: one of the murder su

of the cal varsity rowing team is being remembered in a powerful way. today one of her friends completed a cross-country run in her honor. >> reporter: this is the end of a long journey. kelsey harrison, jogging with the support of 100 friends. she came across the golden gate after running all the way from new york to san francisco. it was a mission of love for her friend, til costello, who died from lung cancer in 2010. that inspired her teammates and best friend kelsey decided to run for awareness. a total of four months and almost 3,000 miles. >> once i decided that i was going to do this, i knew i would finish. >> reporter: the run averaged about 30 miles a day and kelsey went through twelve pairs of running shoes, all to shine a spotlight on cancer, through rain, sleet and cold. >> there were definitely days that were super hard. 20-degree weather. >> reporter: the run raised more than $150,000 for cancer research. kelsey said her departed friend was beside her in memory and spirit. >> we had this really intense motivation, which was her memory and doing this for jill. >> reporter:

the lockdown of a southern california college campus. that lockdown at cal state fullerton was lifted just before midnight. at least one suspect ran on the campus following a police chase yesterday afternoon. that's when the lockdown was ordered. students were told it could last all night but it was lifted after 8 hours. the chase came after a robbery and shooting at a jewelry store. the pursuit covered the counties and ended with a crash near the campus. two suspects are still at large. three others are under arrest. one of them ran into a baseball diamond where the los angeles police chief was at a toy giveaway. that suspect saw dozens of officers there and surrendered. >> amazing video. >>> 4:31 now. a san francisco police sergeant is under investigation over over a video on facebook. in elizabeth wenger is in san francisco with the video that was recorded. >>> this video all over the net. it makes you think why would a san francisco cop ever do this to begin with? we should know he is changing his story now but that video essentially shows the driver starting here at larkin and broadwa

california. cal state fullerton is on lockdown. we have a live picture of the campus for you there. here's what's going on. police are searching for two armed men. now they believe it started when five suspects robbed a jewelry store in riverside county. after a chase that ended near the fullerton campus, apparently they have been able to arrest two of those suspects. police checking the campus for two others and we have some earlier video of the fifth suspect respect who police say carjacked this silver car and took off. the chase went on for miles. it finally anded in watts where police chased the suspect down and arrested him at that baseball diamond. >>> the white house has one word for korea's rocket launch. irresponsible. now the united nations security council is work on their response. cbs news reporter monica villamizar has more. >> reporter: north korea says it fired this long-range rocket into orbit to launch a weather satellite. but many suspect this launch brings the communist nation a step closer to developing the technology to carry a nuclear weapon across the pacific. >>
